Mario Götze is as close as one can be to being on his way to Borussia Dortmund. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is currently the subject of negotiations between Bayern Munich and their biggest Bundesliga rivals.
Tomorrow's print edition of BILD will carry a report that the two clubs are in intense negotiations. TZ was able to get the details of the story before it runs. Borussia Dortmund has already submitted a €23M bid for Götze however Bayern Munich are seeking a transfer fee in the range of €27M. Mario Götze's €39M transfer three years ago still leaves Bayern Munich with nearly €16M on the books in amortized fees so they'll be making money on this deal, no matter which transfer price it ends up being closer to.
Despite Götze's public statements to the contrary it seems that Carlo Ancelotti and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge are going to get the last laugh with regards to Mario's future at Bayern.
UPDATE: BILD+ (paywall) has released the report
