It's been a busy day for Mario Gotze! Reports out of Germany state that Gotze has parted ways with his representatives at SportsTotal, led by Volker Struth. The decision, according to Bild, was made after a meeting between the two last Saturday.
The bigger news of the day though, comes from Mario Gotze himself. In an interview with Bild, he states his intent to stay at Bayern next season. "I'm excited for the new season in Munich and will do everything in my power to be in top shape for the first training session under Carlo Ancelotti."
After months of speculation and links to not only Liverpool and Dortmund, but also Chelsea and Juventus, it seems all will miss out on the opportunity to sign the World Cup winner. Whether Gotze can carve out a more defined and crucial role in Bayern's team under Ancelotti is yet to be seen, but sometimes a fresh coach with new visions can kick into action many new tactical ideas that us fans haven't ever considered (Lahm in the midfield, for example).
If Ancelotti can make the flashes of brilliance Gotze has showed in three years under Guardiola a more regular occurrence, Bayern will consider themselves very lucky that Gotze has decided for Bayern this year instead of looking for a move abroad.
Hopefully, the 23-year-old can use this Euro 2016 as a springboard to a good, consistent, and injury-free season in Munich.
