Mats Hummels had to know, of course, that the Borussia Dortmund fans were going to turn on him when it was announced by the club this week that he was seeking a transfer to Bayern Munich. Most players (and people in general) would have made the same decision that Hummels made. Why not go move back home to make more money with the chance for more success than ever before?

Hummels was booed during the announcement of the starting lineup during warmups, and since the match has started, he has been booed with every touch of the ball. The fans are also flying banners to voice their displeasure with his move.

The banner reads: "The captain is leaving the ship. Sooner the better."
Luckily for Hummels, BVB jumped out to an early 2-0 lead over Wolfsburg to distract the fans for a little bit.
Editor's Note: A new video has surfaced of Hummels walking off the field after warm-ups. With the fans booing and whistling at him, he looks around and says "eight years" before walking into the tunnel. The video has since been deleted. If it resurfaces, we will bring it here.
Update: The video is available once again.
