Douglas Costa will be moving to Munich this summer, both Bayern Munich and Shakhtar Donetsk have confirmed. He signed a five-year contract through 2020 on Wednesday morning, and will be donning No. 11 during the 2015/16 season.

The 24-year-old winger completed his medical on Tuesday afternoon after arriving from Chile after Brazil was eliminated from the Copa America. Shakhtar Donetsk confirmed on their website Douglas Costa will move to Bayern on a €30 million fee, the third highest fee ever for a transfer in Bayern history. He is also the first player ever to move from a Ukrainian club to Bayern.

"A dream has come true for me today," Douglas Costa said in a press release from Bayern. "I’m proud to become a player for Bayern, following in the footsteps of so many magnificent Brazilian players. I’m looking forward to playing for this magnificent team and will do everything I can to fulfil the expectations placed in me."

Douglas Costa now joins a mix of Mario Götze, Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller, Franck Ribéry, and Arjen Robben in attack. Although he has played his entire career in Ukraine and Brazil, a few believe he could be a real force at Bayern.

"Douglas Costa will be good for our team," said Matthias Sammer, Bayern's sporting director, "he has great technical ability, a powerful left foot, he is very agile and extremely quick."

Due to his participation in the Copa America, he will not begin training until July 11, a day before Bayern are due to participate in the Telekom Cup.
