Following Brazil's exit in the Copa America, Shakhtar Donetsk winger Douglas Costa spoke for the first time on his potential move to Bayern Munich.

"They are interested, but right now there is not an agreement yet," Douglas Costa told SPORT BILD PLUS. "Discussions have happened between my club and Bayern, but right now I don't know any more than the interest from Bayern."

That interest may have peaked over the weekend. Kicker is reporting Douglas Costa is a medical and a contract signature way from moving to Bayern for a €28 million fee, and he is set to sign a four- or five-year contract. A report last week linked Bayern to the 24-year-old Brazilian for €35 million, and Shakhtar manager Mircea Lucescu confirmed Bayern's interest two days later. If the two sides have come together on a fee, Douglas Costa may not know about it.

"I don't know if [Shakhtar and Bayern] have come to an agreement," said César Bottega, Douglas Costa's agent. "If Bayern transfers for him, then they will make a great snatch in [Douglas Costa] as a player and as a person."

Douglas Costa meanwhile has maintained his focus on the Copa America, helping Brazil reach the quarterfinals of the competition. The five-year Shakhtar man did not make a start in the Copa America, Willian getting the call from Seleçao manager Dunga. He scored in his debut in the competition, but missed a crucial penalty in the quarterfinal against Paraguay as Brazil lost in penalty kicks.

"I was only concentrated on the Copa America. After the time here, I will talk with my agent," said Douglas Costa.

Bottega, who has worked with Douglas Costa since he was a teenager at Grêmio, believes it would be a dream come true for the winger.

"Who wouldn't want to play for Bayern?" said Bottega. "He is an excellent player, he has very big potential, he works very hard, and therefore he is an athlete that has a profile that will fit with Bayern. He has the profile of a winner, of a fighter."
