Leave me alone, Manchester United! You are not getting Thomas Müller!
That is essentially what Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said to Sport1 over the weekend in regards to Manchester United's continued pursuit of Bayern's prized academy product.
"I told my colleagues at Manchester United: I can't turn my email off, but he doesn't need to send me anything. That is unnecessary."
Manchester United reportedly went as far as €120 million in their quest to land Müller over the summer. Rummenigge has remained firm on his stance that the Müller is not going anywhere, going so far as marking the 26-year-old as untouchable.
Müller has 10 goals so far this season in all competition, two of which came at the weekend in Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund. Manchester United settled with 19-year-old forward Anthony Martial from AS Monaco after their alleged pursuits of Müller, Dortmund's Marco Reus, and Barcelona's Neymar came up empty. Martial has scored four goals in seven matches since joining the Red Devils.
