Giancula di Marzio: Bayern Looking at Ranocchia

Bayern Munich have made contact with Inter Milan in regards to 26-year-old Italian defender Andrea Ranocchia, according to David Amoyal of gianculadimarzio.com:

Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich asked for information about Andrea Ranocchia, his agent Tinti talked about it directly with Rumenigge. The defender informed Inter that until June 2 he will focused only on the national team. Bayern Munich’s offer and the possible renewal will be discussed after Prandelli will submit the final 23-man list for the World Cup. Ranocchia is now focusing only on the national team, there will be time to decide the future afterwards.

Ranocchia's contract runs one more season with the Nerazzurri before it expires. He started 32 matches last season in all competitions with Inter Milan, who qualified for the UEFA Europa League. Claudio Prandelli named Ranocchia to Italy's preliminary World Cup squad earlier this month.

Guardian: Müller to Reject Manchester United Transfer

Thomas Müller is not interested in rejoining with Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, nor does Bayern have interest in selling him, according to the Guardian.

Manchester United are set for disappointment over Bayern Munich’s Thomas Müller, one of their prime summer transfer targets, with the attacking midfielder not minded to leave the German champions and the club not wanting to sell him.

Müller was reportedly on the shortlist van Gaal handed to Manchester United executive Ed Woodward. The 24-year-old has already said he does not plan on leaving the club soon, although will not rule out a move in the future.

Sagnol Appointed as Bordeaux Manager

Girondins de Bordeaux have appointed former Bayern palyer Willy Sagnol as their new manager, replacing Francis Gillot.

Bordeaux finished seventh on 53 points in Ligue 1 last season, although did reach the quarterfinals of the Coupe de la Ligue. Zinedine Zidane, who played at Bordeaux from 1992 to 1996, was also in the running, although he is currently integrated in the Real Madrid coaching staff.

Sagnol played eight and a half seasons with Bayern, making 184 appearances. He is currently serving as the coach France U21 team, who have yet to lose a match in UEFA U21 Qualifying. With his appointment, Sagnol is the only former Bayern player currently in a managerial position with a topflight club.
