According to a report from kicker journalist Georg Holzner (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich could be setting itself up to make a blockbuster move for Bayer Leverkusen ace and Germany international Florian Wirtz this summer.

Once thought to be at least one year too early for a move, 2024 could be the time where Bayern Munich pushes to bring in one of Germany’s most electric young players:

Florian Wirtz could be a serious option for Bayern as early as this summer. The club’s bosses are monitoring Wirtz’s development very closely and have taken notice of his strong performances so far this season. Wirtz could be part of Bayern’s future.

With Bayern Munich having only three players “off limits” per Holzner, there could be the potential for a massive overhaul this summer. Will it happen? Probably not, but mainstays like Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, and Alphonso Davies have seen their names linked to many different clubs, while it is also rumored that Leon Goretzka, Matthijs de Ligt, and Serge Gnabry have all been rumored to be on shaky ground under Tuchel.

Whatever happens, this could be a wild calendar year.

Manchester City, Liverpool FC, Arsenal FC, Real Madrid, and FC Barcelona have all been at least loosely linked to Wirtz in previous months.
