Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has (somehow) shifted from a player who was going to be a “club lifer” to someone who could leave next summer.
Joshua Kimmich is reportedly open to joining Manchester City this year despite Liverpool being linked with the Bayern Munich star. The Germany international has been rumoured with a move away from the German giants in recent weeks, with Liverpool reportedly interested in signing Kimmich. And the midfielder could be on his way out of Bayern, with Kimmich’s contract currently set to expire in 2025, a factor that could make the 28-year-old available for as little as £25m.
However, according to the Daily Star, Kimmich is eager to join Pep Guardiola’s City rather than Liverpool, with Manchester United also interested in the Bayern star.
Lauded by Julian Nagelsmann as a ‘world-class’ player, Kimmich joining City would be quite the move from the reigning Premier League champions given just how good the midfielder is. And for Liverpool, seeing a top player like Kimmich join a rival club in City will be a disastrous event, with the Reds fully aware of how useful the Bayern man could be under Jurgen Klopp.
Kimmich played right-back against FC Basel on Saturday and did not seem to skip too much of a beat. That move was likely made because of the squad’s current dearth at the position rather than any long term move for Kimmich. However, Thomas Tuchel has stated his desire to have a new No. 6 a few times, which could have alienated the Germany international.
Bayern Munich might be willing to break the bank for Ronald Araújo.
According to reports out of Spain, the Bavarians could pony up nine figures to FC Barcelona for Araújo this summer — and double his already hefty salary;
As revealed in SPORT‘s recent report, Bayern are willing to pay an astronomical fee in order to sign the Barcelona defender.
The aforementioned fee includes a massive bonus to the player in addition to a big transfer fee to Barcelona.
He is the Germans’ top priority and number-one option to strengthen the central defence. Bayern Munich, in fact, are willing to double the player’s current salary as part of their offer.
Araujo, however, does not contemplate an exit to be a possible option. He has rejected several large-sum transfer proposals in the past to as to stay at the club of his dreams and still remains rooted in his stance.
Bayern Munich stars Leroy Sané, Joshua Kimmich, and Alphonso Davies were all named to the Bundesliga’s Team of the Year for 2023:
Bayern Munich has returned to training, but somehow the transfer action has been hotter than what has been going on during the practice sessions.
Knowing that Bayern Munich is eager to spend some money and add a few players during this transfer window, the rumors are flowing. Let’s take a look at what we have on tap for this week’s episode:
- Catching-up on some an older take to see how it is going.
- A rundown of the rumor mill, including what we have heard about VfB Stuttgart’s Alexander Nübel and Serhou Guirassy, Chelsea FC’s Trevoh Chalobah, Fulham FC’s João Palhinha, and AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori.
- The increasing likelihood that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Frans Krätzig could leave on loan assignments.
- Discussing the Bild report that Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Matthijs de Ligt and Alphonso Davies are being closely monitored and how that could mean bad things for their respective futures with the club.
- Finally, we lighten it up with some thoughts on this season of Fargo and my progress working through the Marvel movies.

Former Liverpool star Roberto Firmino wants to move back to England:
Roberto Firmino is open to returning to the Premier League, 90min understands, and could leave Saudi Arabia this January.
Firmino joined Al Ahli on a three-year contract when his Liverpool deal expired last summer and got off to a roaring start in the Middle East when he netted a hat-trick on the opening weekend of the season against Al Hazem.
Since then, however, Firmino has not scored in the 18 appearances that have followed and he has lost his place in the starting lineup to Saudi international Firas Al Buraikan, who has 11 league goals to his name this year. Part of the reason for this is he is not seen as a fit in Matthias Jaissle’s system.
Having failed to start any of his side’s last eight games, Firmino is exploring his options and 90min understands he could be offered a route back to the Premier League.
Robin Koch looks like he will be making his loan from Leeds United to Eintracht Frankfurt a permanent move:
