Update — January 7th, 2:35PM EST: Details on Bayern’s offer for Mukiele

According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Paris Saint-Germain is open to selling Nordi Mukiele, but wants to have a replacement in-house first. In addition, Bayern Munich has offered €20 million for the defender:

❗️ Bayern sent an offer slightly above 20M € for Nordi Mukiele

Paris’ position is clear: no sale if it is not replaced

PSG is not closed to a departure. The club is actively looking for a central defender and is looking at opportunities in the middle

According to Radio France journalist Bruno Saloman, it could be a little more bleak for the Bavarians:

Confirmation: PSG has received an offer for the loan of Nordi Mukiélé from Bayern Munich. Info @francebleuparis @radiofrance, the club will refuse this offer #fbsport Mukiélé is considered a “very good player” in the squad, explains a person close to the matter.

Update — January 7th, 9:10AM EST: Bayern has opened talks with Mukiele

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich has move to expedite the process of acquiring Paris Saint-Germain defender Nordi Mukiele.

Mukiele has also received Thomas Tuchel’s official seal of approval per Romano, but the parameters of the deal look to be a loan with an option to buy that could exceed €25 million:

According to multiple reports, Bayern Munich is interested in Paris Saint-Germain defender Nordi Mukiele.

However, there are a few issues with a pursuit of the RB Leipzig player and not the least of which is PSG’s willingness to let Mukiele walk this month.

With outside-back Achraf Hakimi off to AFCON and center-back Milan Škriniar out with an ankle injury, Mukiele’s versatility is still needed on the PSG roster.

Nathan Gissing, a journalist for GianlucaDiMarzio.com issued an initial tweet on the subject:

Bayern Munich have discussed the idea of Paris Saint-Germain’s Nordi Mukiele recently, who is a high candidate for defence alongside Tottenham’s Eric Dier, where both players are known for their versatility.

Thomas Tuchel stressed the importance after their friendly with Basel on Saturday:

“We rather need someone who can help out at right-back and who can be flexible.”

But, PSG are reluctant to let the right-back leave this January, with Moroccan Achraf Hakimi at AFCON. #FCBayern #PSG #THFC

Later, RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins provided his own information:

❗️ Bayern Munich is interested in Nordi Mukiele this winter

Juventus also inquired

Paris is not closed to a departure provided that it can be replaced

PSG’s priority is to find a central defender following Milan Skriniar’s injury

Whatever happens, Bayern Munich is clearly on the hunt for some help on the backline. International duty for Noussair Mazraoui and Kim Min-jae’s, along with the threat of injury to everyone else has Bayern Munich eager to add some depth.
