Bayern Munich and Germany legend Lothar Matthäus is not always an easy man to please when it comes to assessing players.
However, the former midfielder thinks that Bayern Munich has found a gem in Aleksandar Pavlović.
“Pavlović was absolutely convincing in the games he played. His prospects at Bayern now depend on the club’s transfer policy. The more new players are signed, the harder it will be for the young players. I’m always happy to see good young players at FC Bayern. Pavlović undoubtedly has great talent, he now needs to be supported in his development. What’s important at his age is playing time, it doesn’t help if he only trains at a high level,” Matthäus told Abendzeitung’s Maximilian Koch (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Undoubtedly, Bayern Munich’s transfer window will determine just how much playing time gets in the second half of the season. Should the Bavarians pick up a top-flight No. 6 (like Fulham FC’s João Palhinha), the chances for Pavlović to see any significant field time would severely diminish.
