Bayern Munich will take on FC Basel in a tune up for the second half of season and winger Kingsley Coman is eager to get things started.

“A game is always a game, you want to win. Of course, a test match is not just about the result. We have a few topics we want to work on. It’s about us preparing optimally for the first league game and getting into our routines so that we can build on the victories before the winter break,” Coman said in an interview with FCBayern.com (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We are still a few points behind Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. We want to win every game so we don’t have to look at the other teams. We want to go as far as possible in the Champions League. The round of 16 is now against Lazio, we have to take it step by step.”

Coman figures to play an integral role as the season hits the key periods for both the Bundesliga and the Champions League. While FC Basel might not be at the level of competition that Bayern Munich hopes to face down the line, it should serve as a good opportunity for the coaching staff to evaluate just where the squad at this juncture.
