Training Report: Bayern Munich cancels team building activities, Thomas Tuchel holds two-a-days, Matthijs de Ligt sick (Updated)

Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel’s second practice of the day was a bit lighter in terms of personnel:

Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, among others, are not included, but youngsters Noël Aséko Nkili and Adam Aznou are.

Bayern Munich ramped up its preparation for the second half of the season today and — as always with the Bavarians — there was some good news to come out of the training and also some bad news.

The bad news, however, was nothing serious, which is always a nice twist for Bayern Munich fans living in fear of the wrath of the injury gods:

In the release from, it was stated that Thomas Tuchel held two training sessions today, while Matthijs de Ligt absence was due to having “gastrointestinal problems.”

After kicking off the new year with a public training session on Tuesday, FC Bayern is pushing ahead with preparations for the start of the second half of the season. On Wednesday, coach Thomas Tuchel ‘s team will have two sessions on Säbener Straße. Meanwhile, Matthijs de Ligt has to take a break due to minor gastrointestinal problems.

In ten days Bayern will start the Bundesliga again with the home game against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Before that, there is a test match at FC Basel next Saturday (January 6th, 3:30 p.m.) on the program (live on DAZN).

Finally, Abendzeitung’s Maximilian Koch reported that the club had planned to do some team building in the mountains while they were in Switzerland to play a friendly against FC Basel 1893, but that idea has been cancelled:
