Bundesliga Watch: Jadon Sancho’s move back to Borussia Dortmund is increasingly likely

Will Sancho be enough to save Dortmund’s season?

Both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have been linked to Jadon Sancho who has fallen out of favor under Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, but it looks like Die Schwarzgelben are set to beat Bayern to the player.

According to Florian Plettenberg, a six-month loan back to Dortmund is on the cards for the struggling England international. Sancho is reportedly eager to head back to his former club and Dortmund wants the player, leaving the ball in United’s court when it comes to accepting or negotiating the terms of the deal.

Sancho left Dortmund in July of 2021 for an astronomical fee of €85 million, but has failed to live up to his price tag in the years since. The 23-year-old’s stock has dropped significantly over the years, with his transfer value peaking at €130 million in 2020 and having fallen to €25 million today.

Goal contributions have been difficult to come by for Sancho at United, too, as he has racked up only 18 goals and assists in all competitions in his time in England which doesn’t stack up well to the 36 goal contributions he had in his final season alone at Dortmund.

Sancho has only played 76 Premier League minutes this season, but will a move to Dortmund serve to reignite his career?
