Joshua Kimmich is open to Toni Kroos returning to the German national football team

Not embarrassing!

The German national football team needs to pick up the slack because Euro 2024 is around the corner and the team is in disarray heading into the tournament. Certain players are needed to boost the team’s fortunes, and Real Madrid Toni Kroos isn’t it. Or is he?

Kroos retired in 2021 and opinion is divided on whether he should return or not. His national teammate from Bayern Munich Joshua Kimmich, however, is in favor of the 34-year-old coming back. “I’m always happy to play with Toni. So, if he has the desire and time, I’d be very, very happy”, Kimmich said (Bild via @iMiaSanMia). “But in the end the coach decides which players he calls up in order to form the best team.”

Kimmich, Thomas Müller, Jamal Musiala, Leon Goretzka, İlkay Gündoğan, Pascal Groß, and others are included in Germany’s midfield roster, so it is already a bit crowded. But the quality Kroos brings to the team will surely put him in contention.
