Bayern Munich kicked off the new year with a 3-0 victory over Hoffenheim. Bayern showed that they were all business by controlling possession, limiting chances (except for a strange five-minute stretch in the send half), and breaking down Hoffenheim’s defensive shell.

After a six-game dry spell with no goals or assists, Bayern’s wunderkind Jamal Musiala opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a neatly taken goal from a tight angle. He then put the game out of reach with a tap-in in the 70th minute. Both goals were assisted by Leroy Sané, whose uncanny ability to create space out of thin air was on display throughout the game.

In his postgame interview with DAZN DE, Musiala celebrated his partnership with Sané.

“We are really good friends, we like to play together and we both are very strong with the ball. It’s really fun to play with Leroy,” Musiala explained in comments captured by @iMiaSanMia.

Musiala also has been reported to enjoy a close friendship with left-back (and constant transfer rumor target) Alphonso Davies. It appears that the strong connections on the left side of the Bayern attack are translating into results on the pitch.
