Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel stopped reveling in his team’s 3-0 victory over Hoffenheim just long enough to drop some thoughts on new defender Eric Dier.
“He will train with us tomorrow. He’s in top shape. He didn’t play much in the past six months, but before that he always played with all other coaches. He will be a valuable addition for us in central defense. He can also help us switch to a back three system. He also frees up Leon Goretzka for the midfield,” Tuchel said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
A back three system you say?
(BFW sounds the panic alarm and flashes the INNN signal)
For Dier’s part, the Englishman seems to have enjoyed himself at the match.
Dier also tweeted this out after making his transfer official:
It’s only taken 24 hours to feel the size and history but also the warmth of the club. I can’t wait to get to work and start this new journey.— Eric Dier (@ericdier) January 12, 2024
Thank you all for your incredible welcome.
