According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich and Joshua Kimmich are not aligned on the future, which could lead to a transfer this summer.

Once thought to be untouchable, Kimmich’s status within the club has been downgraded — and the player is also said to be open to an exit.

❗️News Joshua #Kimmich: It‘s no longer ruled out that Kimmich might leave Bayern in the summer. The player doesn’t exclude a departure under certain conditions.

➡️ @PSG_inside wants him now or in summer but concrete talks have not yet taken place / There are more requests from other clubs

➡️ So far, there have been no concrete talks about a contract extension with Bayern beyond 2025!

… Kimmich is surprised about it!

Aside of Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool FC, Manchester City, Manchester United, FC Barcelona, and Real Madrid have all been linked to the Germany international.

Plettenberg’s colleague, Kerry Hau, also dished on what Kimmich’s situation is looking like at Bayern Munich. Something not on the table between the parties is a departure this month:

A winter change for Joshua Kimmich is neither an issue for the player nor for FC Bayern.

But: There are currently no negotiations underway about an extension of his contract, which expires in 2025. Kimmich is thinking about it and no longer rules out saying goodbye in the summer - also because he would have liked more support from the club in more difficult phases in recent months and years.

Abroad, England and Spain appeal to him more than France/PSG.

If true, this does lend credence to the speculation that the relationship between Kimmich and coach Thomas Tuchel is strained. By looking for support from the club in matters involving Tuchel, Kimmich is making it known that not everything is perfect between the two men — a situation that could potentially cause an even bigger rift in the locker room, where Kimmich is still an extremely popular figure.
