Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies might be looking for greener pastures

Alphonso Davies’ future has been up for much debate for a while. This is not to set to change in 2024.

Bayern Munich seems to be having a very “loud” season up to date. Players are being questioned apparently at every turn, the football on the pitch is at times underwhelming, Thomas Tuchel’s lines to the the press are not always helpful and of course, as always, there is that board consisting of Uli Hoeness.

It seems that the futures of several players are up for debate whether that be Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sané or Alphonso Davies. It seems that, even though Kimmich and Sané’s contracts expire in 2025, it is Davies’ which is up for most debate. Apparently, there have been internal discussions about the Canadian leaving the club in the dressing room:

A possible #Davies departure to @realmadridhas already been a topic in the Bayern dressing room in recent months. The likelihood of a transfer in the summer is higher than for #Kimmich and Sané, whose contracts also expire in 2025.

Alphonso Davies has of course been a wonderful addition to Bayern. After all, which Bayern fan can forget the way in which he took the world by storm in the 2019/20 season and became the first Canadian international to win the UEFA Champions League?

Inevitably, when a player wins six trophies at such a young age, he might be enticed by a newer challenge a few years down the line. In addition, since the calm presence of Hansi Flick on the touchlines, Bayern has been quite a chaotic club to play for under Julian Nagelsmann and now, Thomas Tuchel. Davies might have other reasons for pursuing a move to Real Madrid, but these could be among them.

Where do you think Davies’ future lies?
