Thomas Tuchel says Bayern Munich will have to “prove it” vs. Eintracht Frankfurt after sitting out last week due to snow

Eintracht Frankfurt could be a tough match for Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is excited to get his team back on the pitch when the Bavarians take on Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday at Deutsche Bank Park. The boss has his team nearing full strength, which will give him some options.

“When I analyze Frankfurt, I don’t see how they lost four games. I see a fast and flexible team with a clear style of play. What we’re seeing doesn’t match their results. That’s what we want to convey to the team. A difficult game awaits. We should be ready to invest a lot on the pitch,” said Tuchel (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “Jamal Musiala will be in the squad. He won’t play 90 minutes, we have to see whether he will start. Apart from Matthijs de Ligt and Bouna Sarr, everyone is in the squad.”

After Bayern Munich was snowed out last weekend against Union Berlin, Tuchel was not sure it was a good thing — even with the extra rest.

“I don’t know whether it’s an advantage. It was very unusual to have such a long break in a phase in which you normally have to travel a lot. The groundskeepers and all the helpers did a great job preparing the pitches for training. A big compliment and thank you to them,” Tuchel remarked. “We had a few concerns for the away game in Köln, but we looked fresh there. Then we looked tired against Copenhagen. Tiredness often creeps in during the time off. The approach this week was very direct, we focused on winning and competing. We’ve had a very good week of training, the mood has been good.

“We need the same tomorrow in Frankfurt. It’s a very emotional atmosphere. We expect Frankfurt to play at the top of their game and the fans to push their team. We have to be ready. We’ll have a short training session today, then the trip to Frankfurt. Tomorrow we have to prove it.”

Former Bayern Munich assistant coach Dino Toppmöller is now the head man at Eintracht Frankfurt and Tuchel understands that could play into the hands of Die Adler.

“He certainly knows the players very well. But that’s nothing unusual. We can’t leave out everyone who has worked with him. His style of play is clearly recognizable. I’ve only heard positive feedback about him here. It’s nice that he’s making his own way,” said Tuchel.
