Bayern Munich nearly signed Lutsharel Geertruida from Feyenoord but had doubts over his quality and price

In their hunt for a defender who can play both CB and RB, Bayern Munich stumbled upon Lutsharel Geertruida and seemed like a good bet. The Feyenoord defender is young and versatile which fits the Bavarians’ criteria…except one, well two: quality and price tag:

Lutsharel Geertruida was a topic at Bayern last summer. The Dutchman can play right-back and centre-back and therefore fits into the profile the club is looking for, however there are doubts internally on whether Geertruida is Bayern quality. Price tag is €30m plus add-ons. Geertruida was also a target for Leipzig in the summer, with Max Eberl fan of the player.

There are users on BFW who are advocating for the Rekordmeister signing Geertruida but that may fall apart thanks to the board needlessly having doubts and being too stingy for their own good. Feyenoord are second in the Eredivisie behind PSV and Geertruida has played every single game so far this season (Transfermarkt). He is also in the 94th percentile or higher in 12 stats; 15 stats are in green (FBref).
