Despite splashing big bucks for Harry Kane in the summer, Bayern Munich has built a reputation for being tight pocketed when it comes to player transfers. Sometimes, paying a low fee succeeds (Jamal Musiala) but often it will not succeed. Unfortunately, the latter is what the Bavarians are doing with FC Barcelona outcast Clément Lenglet:
Clément Lenglet (28) could be an option for the squad depth as a backup centre-back. The Frenchman is currently at Aston Villa on loan from Barcelona - with a market value of €10m, a move for Lenglet would be realistic.

Fans of the Blaugranes did not like how the Frenchman performed for their club and was rather underwhelming in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur and now Aston Villa, both loan assignments. The board needs to get themselves checked because loaning out Josip Stanišić to Bayer Leverkusen set these events in motion; they wouldn’t have had to look for defenders now. They also think €30 million for Lutsharel Geertruida (plus add-ons) is too much but a discount rate for someone who is bench material at best is the right way to do it. Oh dear.
