EURO 2024 is right around the corner, and the Germany team is a mess. But new Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane is not about to taunt his many new German men’s national teammates over it — or over England’s 2-0 win that knocked out Germany at the last edition of the competition, in 2021, in which Kane scored a second-half goal to seal the game.

Kane was asked recently about whether he ever broached the topic in the Bayern dressing room.

“No, I haven’t felt like bringing that one up,” Kane said with a laugh in comments captured by FourFourTwo (via @iMiaSanMia). “And I’m sure none of my new team-mates would enjoy it being discussed, so it might have to be kept quiet, that one.”

But despite Germany’s ongoing struggles, Kane still regards them as major international rivals to be respected.

“Germany are still one of the best teams in Europe,” he added. “The Euros will be tough, whether or not we end up facing the hosts. But we’ve played them before and we know we can expect them to refocus and challenge for the trophy.”

After the shellacking Germany has taken recently, its own fans may not be able to muster the same optimism.
