Thomas Tuchel urges Bayern Munich forward following 5-1 demolition to Eintracht Frankfurt

The only thing more embarrassing than this would be losing to Manchester United on Tuesday.

Well, that didn’t go to plan.

Bayern Munich were absolutely humiliated by Eintracht Frankfurt, ultimately walking away 5-1 losers and a major dent to their egos to go along with it.

So what exactly went wrong?

According to Thomas Tuchel, Bayern’s fault lay in the beginning stages of the game.

“We underestimated the danger of the situation and completely gave the game away very early on.” Tuchel said (as captured by Sport 1’s Kerry Hau)

Thomas Tuchel got many things wrong against Frankfurt, but he is certainly right about this.

The German was swift to move onto a more positive note (something Bayern fans may not be as willing to do).

“But I have confidence in my team. There’s no point in speaking ill of everything now. Things will continue on Tuesday. Old Trafford. We need a reaction there.”

Despite Bayern having already qualified for the Champions League round of 16, Tuesday night’s Champions League encounter with Manchester United at Old Trafford is a must win game.

While United have been far from their historic best, an away win against The Red Devils may be exactly what The Record Champions need to prevent this poor performance from turning into a poor run of form.
