Bayern Munich recently completed a stealth signing of La Liga talent Bryan Zaragoza, but it was not the only club after the young winger. Two Spanish sides were reportedly on Zaragoza’s trail as well, but could not match the Bavarians’ financial muscle.

One of those is a familiar name for Bayern fans: FC Barcelona. From El Desmarque, via @iMiaSanMia:

Sevilla and Barcelona were interested in Bryan Zaragoza before his move to Bayern, but couldn’t agree a deal with Granada for financial reasons. Sevilla inquired about Zaragoza, but couldn’t reach €14m. Barça also asked about the player but couldn’t offer more than €5m [@rubenuria via @eldesmarque]

Barça’s famous financial troubles in recent years has not stopped them from pursuing many high-profile players — former Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski among them. But after levers and levers, it looks like at least some of the financial constraints are catching up to the Catalans.
