Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich both extended to 2025, and that piece of news was more entertaining than what Bayern Munich did in the Champions League against Copenhagen. The Bavarians scraped a 0-0 draw in what was effectively a nonbearing game. Thomas Müller is next up in the line of players to be given new contracts and said that Neuer extending was worth it.
“Thank God he extended. When you see the double save he made today, then we can be happy to have him,” Müller said after the game (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). Neuer made a couple of huge saves near the end of the match to maintain the scoreline.
Müller also happened to be the most effective player on the team and his performances will surely warrant an extension if he keeps them up. “If Thomas is talking to Bayern and Bayern are talking to Thomas, I assume it will work,” Neuer said (Maximilian Koch via @iMiaSanMia).
