Bayern Munich midfielder Konrad Laimer has been moved around a bit during his first campaign in Bavaria, but the Austrian is happy to be competing in the Champions League and knowing his squad has a legitimate chance to win the whole thing.

However, Laimer knows that every UCL game is going to be a battle.

“As we saw in the first leg, Copenhagen are a very good team that we will take very seriously. We will prepare well for the game. It’s a Champions League game, we have to give our maximum performance to win,” said Laimer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We won all four games, that was a good start. We are on the right track, but we also have room for improvement. We go on the pitch every day to improve. We’ll see how far and how good we are in the knockout games. We are on the right track and have to keep goin.”

As for where Laimer might play against FC Copenhagen, that remains up in the air. A contributor as a midfielder and a right-back, the Austrian has made himself a valuable asset to have on the roster.

“It never hurts if you can play in multiple positions. There are obviously advantages and disadvantages. I always see it positively, I want to be on the pitch and play, wherever it is.”

Wherever Laimer lines up — even if it is a seat on the bench — Laimer will be ready.

“It’s a Champions League game. Just when you hear the anthem, wear the FC Bayern shirt and play in this stadium, then you want to win. We’ll try to make the evening a nice one for us,” said Laimer.
