Harry Kane has hit 18 goals in 12 games so far this season for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. This promptly led to early shouts of the England captain surpassing Robert Lewandowski’s 41-goal record in one season. Kane, humble as ever, downplayed it and said that he will do his best to help the team.

“Robert is a legend at Bayern and one of the best strikers of our generation”, Kane remarked (FourFourTwo as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “He set the bar so high. It’s too early in the season for me to be talking about specific numbers. That’s not where my focus is. Playing well and helping the team is the most important thing, but I’m happy I’ve started well and hope it continues”.

At this stage in the season, Kane already has more goals than the Polish striker (now at FC Barcelona) and is poised to score over 50 goals by Matchday 34. VfB Stuttgart surprise package Serhou Guirassy is not far off as well.
