Bayern Munich vs FC Copenhagen: Lineups, team news, injuries, and more! (Updated)

It would be nice to see a little bit of rotation.

With qualification to the Round of 16 already secured, Bayern Munich host FC Copenhagen without the pressure of a normal competitive fixture. Still, there are some things at stake, mainly the €2.8m bonus prize money teams get for each win in the Champions League group stage, and the incredible undefeated streak Bayern have cultivated in the group stage since 2017.

In terms of rotation, Thomas Tuchel has the chance to go all out and rest some key players. The question is, will he take his chance?

Team news

No news on the injury front. Jamal Musiala is still out, and Matthijs de Ligt resumed running training on the pitch and probably won’t be ready before the end of 2023. The rest of the team should be available, though Thomas Tuchel did not explicitly mention Alphonso Davies (who missed the Köln game with muscular issues) as an option to start.

So, in terms of the lineup ... let’s say that Harry Kane will start. If Tuchel remembers that Thomas Müller exists, then he should start too. Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sané are the main candidates for the wings, though it’s about time that Serge Gnabry got a start.

Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka likely start in midfield, with an unchanged defensive line from the Köln game. With the newly extended Manuel Neuer captaining the team from the keeper’s spot, this is what the lineup could look like:

Update

According to Bild, Mazraoui and Kim Min-Jae missed training. They seem to be doubtful for the game.
