After yet another disappointing international window for Germany, Julian Nagelsmann has lots of preparation to do. Germany will find out their opponents for the big tournament on December 2nd. This will be a big sign of what is to come for Die Mannschaft. With teams like Italy in the fourth pool to draw from, there are several difficult scenarios.
At this point, it is hard to tell exactly what wouldn’t be a hard draw for Germany, based on their current performance. Fans will soon find out if the home tournament will simply add pressure for the worst, or whether it will inspire and motivate the players.
Nagelsmann on next week's draw for the Euros: "The draw makes things exciting because it's not in your own hands. When the opponents are drawn, we'll prepare meticulously for them. We'll try to find the right opponents to prepare for the tournament" pic.twitter.com/M3o8d8dCpT— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) November 20, 2023
Fans are being harsh on the team, but on recent performance, the criticism seems to be fair. It is certainly not too late for Julian Nagelsmann and the team to turn things around, but every single match proves a chance to experiment or solidify their game plan. With the list of their opponents released shortly, it will give Nagelsmann and the coaching team plenty of time to start analyzing.
