According to a report form kicker’s Georg Holzner (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich star Thomas Müller is not thrilled with his role as a bench player under Thomas Tuchel:

Thomas Müller is not entirely happy with his substitute role this season, but can also understand the reasons behind that. Nevertheless, Müller’s value within the team as a leading player and identification figure remains undisputed. The club’s bosses are optimistic that Müller’s contract will be extended beyond next summer.

Holzner went to say that even while a contract extension is expected to get done, it might not happen for a while:

Although their contracts expire next summer, Bayern are not in a rush regarding talks with Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller as the relationship with both players is great and there’s a lot of appreciation between both sides.

Müller’s evolution under Tuchel over the course of this season will be something to monitor. Should the veteran eventually decide that things have become untenable, his eyes could start to wander just to see what other options he might have.
