Match awards from Germany’s pathetic 2-3 loss to Turkey

Honestly pathetic, full stop.

This image fits the state of this Germany team

No words can describe the horror show that Germany produced against Turkey’s B team. Does any German player even weasel their way into the match awards? Did any Bayern Munich players earn recognition? Let’s find out...

Jersey Swap: Turkey

Call it lazy, but Turkey completely outplayed Germany today that their whole team gets JS. Germany was so BAD this game that Turkey looked like 2009 Barcelona, just terrible overall.

Der Kaiser: Kevin Trapp

Let’s put it this way: Benjamin Henrichs and Jonathan Tah were clowning in defense and Antonio Rüdiger is nonexistent. Trapp kept the score down

Honorable Mention: Kai Havertz

Havertz was out of position at left-back yet he scored to put Germany 1-0 up (but gave away penalty to make it 2-3).

Der Fußballgott: Nobody

The midfield was nonexistent today. Joshua Kimmich and İlkay Gündoğan did not do anything of note to help Germany save face.

Der Bomber: Florian Wirtz

The kid had bright spots and was certainly better than his peers bar one.

Meister of the Match: Leroy Sané

Worked his socks off the whole game but had little to show for it. He, Florian Wirtz, and Niclas Füllkrug had their moments but the Bayern Munich man was considerably standout compared to the others.
