Vote! Germany 2 - 3 Turkey: Community player ratings

Well that was abysmal. Any bright spots?

Germany’s road to EURO 2024 could not be bumpier after a 2-3 home loss to Turkey in former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann’s first game in charge in front of a home crowd.

It has been years since things felt truly right with Die Mannschaft but it is certainly not for lack of trying, in the form of pulling the plug on unsatisfactory but even beloved managers. Joachim Löw left of his own volition but was jeered at the door after Euro 2021, and three years on...well, the latest appointee, Julian Nagelsmann, is floundering just as much as his predecessor (at both the DFB and Bayern) Hansi Flick.

What will make Germany right again? If it is a bold experiment to place former Chelsea FC, current Arsenal FC man Kai Havertz at left-back, or incorporating the nation’s best No. 9 at the moment in Borussia Dortmund’s Niclas Füllkrug, neither move appears to be paying immediate dividends. Both players scored...only for a Turkey team not really at full strength busting Germany’s defense past the breaking point.

How does Germany right the ship in time for the EURO next summer?

Here’s how Bild rated the match performances. Have your own say below the jump!
