News out of the Germany camp is that FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen had to withdraw from the squad due to an injury. Regular starter Manuel Neuer sat this one out because he had just returned from an injury that kept him out of Bayern Munich action for a year. Die Mannschaft coach Julian Nagelsmann has ruled out bringing in the 37-year-old:
Anyone who listened to the justification for the decision not to be called up can answer the question for themselves as to why it made sense not to call him up. It makes sense that he stayed home. That’s why calling him now makes no sense. Manu has done well since his comeback and hopefully he continues this way. The players who perform well will play at the Euros.

The tendency now is for Kevin Trapp to step up to the plate against Turkey and Austria.
