According to a report from Sport1 journalist Kerry Hau, Bayern Munich and star winger Leroy Sané will not engage in contract negotiations until 2024.

At this point, Sané wants to focus on his performances on the pitch:

So is Sané buying time? Is it a reasonable hesitation? SPORT1 knows: Even if there will be no more concrete contract negotiations between Sané and Bayern this year, the club and the players are in good communication.

If Bayern have their way, there is no reason for delay anyway, things could get done straight away.

Sané, whose contract with the record champions runs until 2025, feels valued and trusted, especially by head coach Thomas Tuchel and honorary president Uli Hoeneß. Which is why, according to SPORT1, there has been no contact with other clubs - not even with former club Manchester City, where former Bayern coach Pep Guardiola is very keen on Sané.

The Manchester City rumors had troubled some fans given Sané’s connection to the club, but all indications are that the player and Bayern Munich will get together after the new year.

For now, Sané wants to stay in top form and focus on winning the Champions League — a task that has become much more vital to the player after Bayern Munich flamed out in the DFB-Pokal:

The top priority for the winger is to carry his dazzling form into the new year.

After the bitter defeat in the DFB Cup (1:2 against third-division side 1. FC Saarbrücken), which left him extremely annoyed, Sané’s main goal is now to win the Champions League title with Bayern. He is dedicating everything to this.
