Just in time before the big matchup in Leipzig, Bayern Munich has brought back two crucial players to team training on Thursday. While no statements have been made yet, we expect that these players will play a role on Saturday in some fashion.

Thomas Müller left his duty with the German national team early because of muscular problems sustained in his left thigh. It was immediately ruled out as nothing serious, but cautions were taken as he returned to Munich.

The other player to return for team training on Thursday was Alphonso Davies. The Canadian wonderkid also sustained a minor injury on international duty. He was replaced early due to knee problems after providing an assist in a 1-1 draw against the USA. Julian Nagelsmann is yet to comment on whether he can play against RB Leipzig on Saturday, but sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic is expecting everyone but Corentin Tolisso and Kingsley Coman suit up.

Alphonso Davies also clarified any rumors of issues with the Canadian team after posting with the caption, “They won’t realize how big of a part you play until you’re not there to play it anymore.” This of course caused some short-term panic but was later cleared up by Davies.

Bayern fans can be relieved knowing these injuries seem to be minor and not have any long-term repercussions, these moments are always scary. Especially with Lewandowski’s injury over international duty and consequently missing out on key Champions League matches last season. Fans certainly have mixed feelings about players leaving for international duty due to match fatigue and injuries. Love it or hate it but it is an essential part of the game.
