According to RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff, Bayern Munich has made contact with Die Roten Bullen midfielder Konrad Laimer regarding a transfer.
Is one Austrian midfielder with club ties to RB Leipzig not enough for Bayern Munich?
Maybe not...we guess. Marcel Sabitzer, of course, recently joined Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig.
Laimer, a 24-year-old Austria international, would certainly be an interesting acquisition for the Bavarians and Mintzlaff’s open discussion on the topic surely raised a few eyebrows in Germany (Sport Bild via @iMiaSanMia):
Bayern have shown interest in RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer (24). Contact took place over a potential transfer. Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff confirms: "For Konrad Laimer, there was contact between Bayern and the player, but not between Bayern and us" [@SPORTBILD] pic.twitter.com/KKp69P0GDj

Mintzlaff also indicated that bypassing the club and going directly to the player is not something unheard of for the Bavarians.
“Look, that’s the normal way of doing things at Bayern. Of course, they would like to cause a bit of unrest to us, but also to other clubs. This approach is not new to us,” stated Mintzlaff.
Laimer’s current contract with RB Leipzig ends in 2023. If Bayern Munich was looking to bring in the Austrian next summer, Transfermarkt has him valued at €26 million.
This news is certainly not outlandish, either. Bayern Munich is likely going to lose Corentin Tolisso to a free transfer next summer and Marc Roca (contract through 2025 — gasp!) has not exactly shown any reason for the Bavarians to withhold themselves form exploring other options.
