Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka figures to be a key player for Germany moving forward and know the squad’s biggest focus needs to be evaluating itself daily and find ways to improve.
“The last two games were very different. Against Armenia we had more space than against Liechtenstein. We have a plan for tomorrow and we’ll see how things will work. We want to confirm our previous performance,” said Goretzka (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “We will primarily focus on ourselves. We made a good step forward in the last game. We want to build on that. Tonight we’re going to discuss in detail how the opponent plays with the ball.”
One big difference that Goretzka has notice so far during this round of qualifiers is that it is way harder to communicate on the pitch.
“Fortunately, the stadiums are getting full and loud again, which makes communication on the pitch a bit more difficult,” said Goretzka. “But we are happy to accept that and order some herbal tea in the evening to protect our vocal cords.”
