A new chapter begins for Franck Ribéry today as the former Bayern Munich star is set to complete his move to the newly promoted Serie A side, U.S Salernitana, after having spent the past two years at Fiorentina. According to multiple reports, the singing will be made official later today once the medical is done.

Ribéry’s new deal will keep him in Salerno until the summer of 2022 with an annual salary of 1.5 million Euros. There have been speculations of the 38-year-old’s possible return to Munich during the initial weeks of August, which were later given a thumbs-down by club chairman Oliver Kahn.

Per L’Equipe (via @iMiaSanMia), Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin had made serious contact with the Frenchman in the past few months. However, Ribéry reportedly decided against joining another German club as he wanted to stay loyal to Bayern.

Salernitana is currently placed 18th in the Serie A table after their first two league matches. The club will be looking forward to getting all the help they could from the man who once was a half of what made the legendary Robbery whole.
