Bayern Munich have signed the club’s U-19 captain Justin Janitzek to a contract extension. The 17 year old defender will remain in Munich through 2024.

“In his position, Justin is one of the top talents of his year. He has already indicated his potential in the Regionalliga Bayern,” Campus Sports Director Holger Seitz said. “We are convinced that he will continue his steady development with us over the next few years.”

Janitzek has all three matches that the U-19s have played so far this season. He’s also made five appearances, including one start, for Bayern II in the Regionalliga.

The club also finally announced the departures of youth players Konstantin Gertig (to RB Salzburg) and Rafael Pfauser (to Freiburg). Those two moves had previously been happening, but Bayern are just finally announcing the moves now. Seitz said, “We would like to thank both of them for their commitment to FC Bayern and wish them all the best for the future in terms of sport and private life.”
