As the transfer window was closing, Bayern Munich tried to find a team that would make an offer for Bouna Sarr. Unfortunately for Bayern, reports came out that Sarr turned down multiple offers from other clubs, because he wants to ride out his contract at Bayern.
Germany’s transfer window – as is the case for most of Europe – is now closed. Just as Bayern and their fans feared that they were stuck with Sarr for another year, new reports have surfaced that Turkish club Besiktas still has interest in bringing on Sarr. This is still possible because the transfer window is still open in Turkey until September 8. However, it could still be hard for Besiktas to land Sarr, as one of the teams that Sarr turned down was Besiktas.
Throughout his time at Bayern, Sarr has rarely been on the field for a significant amount of time. He has usually come on as a time-wasting sub. He has never been the first option at right back. With the emergence of Josip Stanisic and the immanent return of Benjamin Pavard, there is no need for Sarr.
However, Sarr seems to be ok with sitting on the bench, collecting a paycheck, and waiting out his time so that he can leave on a free transfer.
