It might be easy to think that Bayern Munich had one eye on the “out of town” scoreboard during its 5-0 drubbing of Dynamo Kyiv, but midfielder Leon Goretzka is here to assure you that was not the case at all.
In fact, Bayern Munich could not really have cared any less who won the FC Barcelona vs. Benfica match (Hint: It wasn’t Barca).
“We are not particularly interested in that. We want to win our games and implement our coach’s ideas. That’s why the results of the other teams are not so important to us,” Goretzka said (as captured by Tz).
As for his own team’s game, Goretzka was impressed, but saw some things that the Bavarians can work on.
“It was a great evening of football with a supberb atmosphere here in the stadium. We played well. There are always things that we can do better. Much was good today. The fact that we did not concede a goal today was important to us as a team and the coach. Also that we don’t let up with 3-0, 4-0. The greed to defend the goal, that was really good today,” said Goretzka.
