Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (aka Mr. Here We Go!) made an appearance on Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg’s Meine Bayern-Woche podcast and said not to count out Bayern Munich in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star striker Erling Haaland next summer.
“I’m sure that Bayern will be in the race (for Haaland),” Romano said (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “I know they’re saying maybe it’s too difficult, but Bayern will be in the race with English clubs, PSG, Spanish clubs. It will be a fantastic race.”
The Bayern Munich brass is already playing a coy game with the media by saying it is their duty to explore signing Haaland, but also downplaying the chances of it happening by openly talking about what his salary demands might be.
The mind games on this transfer will be off the charts between clubs, Haaland’s representatives, and the media — and it will surely heighten with each passing month until the 2022 summer transfer window opens.
Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC, Manchester United, Manchester City, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain are the biggest clubs who have been linked to Haaland.
Buckle up everyone, it’s going to be a wild ride.
