Jersey Swap: Carlos de Pena
Dynamo Kyiv had their chances, and they made Manuel Neuer work this evening. One of the most dangerous Dynamo players was Carlos de Pena - who had a very good chance in the first half. Dynamo attacked Bayern on the counterattack, and Pena got the ball and took a shot, but Manuel Neuer brilliantly saved it. Besides that, Dynamo Kyiv was a tough cookie to break, at least in the first half.
Der Kaiser: Manuel Neuer
The Bayern Munich captain played another brilliant match and got another clean sheet. The German had a surprisingly active evening. Dynamo Kyiv didn’t have particularly many chances, but whenever they attacked and tried to score, Manuel Neuer was there with either a brilliant save or a confident catch. He also made a couple of his characteristic runs, and he timed every one of them perfectly. Neuer finished tonight’s match with two saves and 88% successful passes. Another great match for Bayern Munich’s captain!
Fußballgott: Thomas Müller
Bayern’s living legend had a slow start in tonight’s match. He struggled at first, but as the match progressed he got better. He made two assists tonight, one for Lewandowski, and another for Leroy Sane. Thomas Muller was very active all over the field, and it was captivating as ever. It is amazing how he manages to maintain this level of Raumdeutering every match. His passing was also impressive tonight, as he made 88 % successful passes with five key passes.
Der Bomber: Robert Lewandowski
Another amazing performance from the Polish striker! For most of the match, he was given little space. But when he did find space, he used it perfectly. He opened Bayern’s scoring with another perfectly taken penalty — he only missed six penalties in his entire career! After that, in the 27th minute, he scored after a brilliant assist from Thomas Muller. He was also often drifting to the sides of the pitch and with that opened space for his teammates. Lewandowski also often created chances for his teammates and had three key passes. Lewa really put up a show.
Meister of the Match: Leroy Sane
What a match from Sane! This is one of the best performances that he had in Bayern’s jersey. At the beginning of the match, and even until the better part of the second half, he created chances, but just lacked a little luck to score the goal. But he finally managed to assist in the 68th minute, after he placed a timed pass to Serge Gnabry, who smashed the ball in the net. After just six minutes, he scored a brilliant goal, but was it intentional? I’m not sure, but it was definitely magnificent. He was very active in the defense and dropped back almost every time Dynamo attacked. Leroy also had an impressive pass accuracy of 93%. It was awesome to hear the crowd cheering Sane after they booed him a couple of weeks ago.
