Bayern Munich loanee Chris Richards was among 27 players called by coach Gregg Berhalter to the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) per a release from USSoccer.com.

Richards will compete for playing time with fellow defenders George Bello (Atlanta United), John Brooks (Wolfsburg), Sergiño Dest (FC Barcelona), Mark McKenzie (Genk), Shaq Moore (Tenerife), Tim Ream (Fulham), Antonee Robinson (Fulham), Miles Robinson (Atlanta United), and DeAndre Yedlin (Galatasaray).

Other notable call-ups for the United States were Tyler Adams (RB Leipzig), Weston McKennie (Juventus), Brendan Aaronson (RB Salzburg), Matthew Hoppe (Mallorca), and Ricardo Pepi (FC Dallas).

“We are excited to get the group back together for this next round of World Cup Qualifiers,” Berhalter said. “This squad represents a diverse group of talent, and we will need to rely on each and every team member to navigate through these three games. Our focus now is Jamaica and preparing to win that game.”
