Bayern Munich II picked up all three points on Saturday with a 3-1 win over TSV Rain am Lech.

“We can be satisfied with the result and the three points. We can’t expect every game to score six goals,” coach Martin Demichelis said after the match. “We had a very young squad on the field again today, just like in Rosenheim. Now the focus is on the next game. It will be very difficult on Tuesday against Schweinfurt.”

Match Highlights

Bayern II took the lead in the 23rd minute when Jamie Lawrence played a long ball over the top to Nemanja Motika. The forward slotted the ball home past the Rain am Lech goalkeeper. Lawrence would double the lead a few minutes later with a low shot from distance that beat everyone into the far corner.

Gabriel Vidovic made it 3-0 in the 60th minute after picking up a loose ball after Motika was clobbered dribbling toward the Rain am Lech penalty area. Jonas Greppmeir pulled one back for the visitors in the 80th minute, but Bayern II held on with ease for the final 3-1 result.

Squad

Christian Früchtl and Malik Tillman were both with the first team this week, so they were out of the squad alongside Timo Kern who was injured. Manuel Kainz got his second start in goal for Bayern II.

Demichelis turned to his new preferred backline with Taylor Booth and Angelo Brückner at fullbacks with Lawrence and Bright Arrey-Mbi at centerback.

Lucas Copado made the starting lineup for the first time with Bayern II, but he came off in the final few minutes thanks to an injury.

Bayern XI: Kainz – Booth, Lawrence, Arrey-Mbi, Brückner (64. Rhein) – Aydin (57. Vidović), Metu (72. Welzmüller), Sieb – Batista-Meier (57.Salihamidžić), Copado, Motika (64. Fust)

Table and Next Match

Bayern II jump back into action on Tuesday with match against Schweinfurt before a match at the weekend against Greuther Fürth II.

Temporarily, Bayern II jump back into first place thanks to goal differential over SpVgg Bayreuth; however, Bayreuth has an extra game in hand at the moment.
