Just because the season started doesn’t mean a shortage of Bayern Munich kit leaks. We saw the release of the one-off Oktoberfest kit last week (which sold like hot cakes, mind you, the shirt is completely sold out on the German online store, while only kids’ sizes remain in the Asia store), and now we have a leak of the new pre-match shirt.
Now, the current pre-match warmup top sports a red and blue pattern with white splotches of color all over, making it seem like something out of a Fourth of July party.

The new top’s colors haven’t really changed much, they’re still the same red and blue, if not a tad navy. But the big difference is the pattern. The current top’s pattern looks like something tie-dyed, while the new leaked top has a bunch of wavy lines that run up and down the shirt. It looks more like an optical illusion you might see in the quantum realm, and whatever it is, it definitely doesn’t look like it belongs on a football shirt. The Adidas logo and the club’s badge are all monochromatic white.

This isn’t the first time Bayern’s pre-match kits have been splashed with intricate patterns, but this season really seems to take the cake. But then again, pre-match shirts don’t really draw too much attention compared to the actual kits, so I guess these are the shirts to really see how creative you can get. Some of them have looked pretty good, while others, like this one, not so much. Imagine this design being on the away or third shirt, that would be a nightmare.
The leaked top will be worn in the second half of the season, so we’ll be able to enjoy the Fourth of July sparklers top for another two and a half months or so. According to Footy Headlines, it should be available for purchase come December or January.
