It looks like former Bayern Munich treble-winner Philippe Coutinho might finally have an exit plan from FC Barcelona.
Sport1 captured a report from El Nacional linking Coutinho to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. While maybe not ideal destinations to most Bayern Munich fans, Coutinho surely wants to find a new place to ply his trade after wasting a few seasons with FC Barcelona:
Philippe Coutinho’s time at FC Barcelona could come to a quick end. As El Nacional from Catalonia reports, the two English clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal FC are said to be interested in the 29-year-old.
It is reported that Barcelona would not put any obstacles in the way of the attacker for a move this winter.
The Brazilian is contractually bound to Barcelona until 2023.
Coutinho has had a difficult time at Barcelona after an injury that put him out of action for half a year and has only appeared in two league games so far. If there are still a handful, the clammy FC Barcelona must transfer a transfer charge of 20 million euros to Liverpool FC.
One of the big issues with Coutinho is his massive salary. It remains to be seen if the Brazilian will lower his wages in an effort to just move on from FC Barcelona.
