Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez is teaming up with Niklas Süle and Dayot Upamecano to form one of the best groups of center-backs in the game.

While some might have questioned how Upamecano would fit in at Bayern Munich, Hernandez knew things would work out quite nicely.

”I’ve known him from the national team. He’s a great player, a great defender. He didn’t need much time to adapt. He already knew the coach, the systems, what he expects from him. He adapted very quickly,” Hernandez told beIN Sports (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “He’s a very pleasant guy, very, very nice person, he’s a fantastic player. Defensively, he brings us a lot.”

Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has the luxury of being able to juggle and rotate Süle, Hernandez, nd Upamecano as he sees fit, which should prove to be extremely valuable as the Bavarians eye a long — and trophy-filled — season.
