Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich will take the three points in a less than “brilliant” performance

It was not always pretty, but it was still a win.

Bayern Munich star midfielder Joshua Kimmich knew the game was not always pretty, but was happy to see his team walk away with three points against SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the Bundesliga on Friday.

“It was not a brilliant performance from us. We invited them again and again with bad passes,” Kimmich said (as captured by FCBayern.com). “Even when we were a man down, we had everything under control. We made a few too many mistakes, especially towards the end of the first half. That’s how we kept inviting pressure from Fürth. But all in all, we deserved to win.”

While he might not have been totally pleased, Kimmich was at least happy to contribute a goal in the 3-1 victory.

“Sure, I wanted to put it in on the bottom right,” Kimmich said. “The character of the team is superb. We have players who are hungry and want to improve. We want to win trophies and matches, even if we’re the clear favorites going into the game. At the moment we’re in a good place, but we haven’t played all our games with this level of conviction thus far.”
